Animal Kingdom!


If you love animals, you can't miss Animal Kingdom, one of many Disney World theme parks. Here, you will not only see real animals, but some of your kids Disney favorites. There are also plenty of shows, places to eat and more. With so much to do, you'll want to plan a whole day to explore it all.

One of the shows at Animal Kingdom is "Finding Nemo: The Musical". You'll see all your favorites from this Disney hit live on stage accompanied by new songs. The 30-minute show features both puppetry and live actors. If you want to attend "Finding Nemo: The Musical" and need special assistance, Disney will provide! The show features a captioning system, assistive listening receivers and is wheelchair/scooter accessible. That's not all. Animal Kingdom also has "Festival of the Lion King". You can hear the songs from the movie live as well as see Simba, Timon and Pumba perform live on stage. If you still haven't seen enough stage action, check out "Pocahontas and her Forest Friends". In this show, Pocahontas gets her grandmother's help to save her friends when the forest is put in danger. Finally, Animal Kingdom offers "It's Tough to be a Bug". Treat yourself to a 3D experience like no other as you explore the world through a bugs eyes.

There is plenty of real adventure to take part in at Animal Kingdom. Kilimanjaro Safaris. This ride will take you on an African Safari where you can see animals roaming through a landscape of rivers, hills and more. You might even catch a glimpse at some of the new additions who were just born! If you have certain conditions, such as back and neck pain, heart trouble or high blood pressure you should avoid this attraction. Pregnant women should stay away as well. Also, keep in mind flash photography is not allowed. DINOSAUR, another attraction here, is a wild ride into the past where you must save a stray dinosaur before it is eaten by a predator. Avoid this attraction if you have medical conditions or are pregnant. You must also be at least 40' tall. Another great ride, Kali River Rapids, takes you on a tour of a rainforest in Asia where you will have to escape a blazing inferno! You must be at least 38' tall and in good health participate.

If you have had enough of wild adventures, why not check out a parade? Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade will allow you and your children to see Disney characters in actions as they celebrate the animals who live there. The parade route travels through Africa, Discovery Island, and Asia blasting music all the way. When you're done with all this, how about checking out Flights of Wonder? You'll see bird handlers introduce you to a variety of feathered friends such as Hawks, Macaws, and the American Bald Eagle. A tour guide is on hand to help and educate visitors about these birds. Take the Backstage Safari tour and learn how these animals are cared for. The Wild by Design Tour tells you how the Animal Kingdom theme park came about.
