Shop 'til you drop -- Tax-Free weekend is on it's way!

August 13-15, 2010 is Florida's tax-free shopping weekend. That means that certain items -- clothes, shoes, books and accessories -- that cost $50 or less will be sale tax-free. School supplies that cost $10 or less will also be part of the deal. Outlets like Orlando Premium Outlets and Prime Outlets will be taking part, which means the amazing deals you can score at these kinds of places just got even more amazing. Add tourist-friend local malls like Florida Mall, Mall at Millenia, and Orlando Fashion Square Mall and it's truly a shopper's dream.

Most designer items and high-ticket choices won't be part of the tax-free weekend unless they meet the below $50 stipulation, but with all the moderately-priced stores throughout Orlando, the deals will be fantastic and the competition will be fierce. Expect crowds of tourists and locals at all the malls -- this is a time when the early-bird will get the choicest worms. As a general note, theme park stores, including shops in places like Downtown Disney and Universal City Walk, tend not to take part in this event, so if you're just dying for a theme park bargain, you'd better off shopping outside the parks.

If you get a great bargain, we'd love to hear about it! Post your finds in the comments.
