Yesterday, news choppers could be seen flying over Downtown Disney and the site that was once Pleasure Island, Walt Disney World's former adult -- as in over 18, not as in adult adult, of course -- entertainment complex. Pleasure Island closed in 2008.
While nothing ground-shaking has been reported, construction permits were officially filed. Permits include requesting construction trailers to be put on site, as well as "overall construction" for the buildings and areas that were once home to clubs like Motion and BET Sound Stage, as well as the beloved and still-missed Adventurer's Club. Disney has confirmed that more information will be made public in a few weeks.
What do you want to see from Pleasure Island? Does Disney still need a place where the grownups can let their hair down, or are there already enough Orlando-area offerings for that?
