It may not sound like gourmet fare but trust me -- food bought from a truck can be fresh, delicious, unique and truly foodie-worthy. Plus it's almost always a bargain.
Food trucks have been slowly making their way to Orlando and local foodies couldn't be happier about it. On March 29, 2011, from 7pm to 10pm, you get your chance to sample some of the best, as food trucks from all over the Metro Orlando area will park themselves in one location and offer their wares.
The Orlando Food Truck Bazaar was the brainchild of The Daily City, an Orlando blog dedicated to the arts of all kinds; it is one of the most popular blogs about the city. Sponsors of the event include Yelp Orlando, Massey Communications and popular Orlando food critic Scott Joseph (follow him on twitter -- he's worth it). Food trucks who have committed so far are:
Big Wheel Provisions (catering and charcuterie)
Korean BBQ Taco Box (Korean-style meat tacos and salads)
Red Eye BBQ (award-winning slow-smoked BBQ)
The Vegan Hot Dog
The Taco Lady
Pupusas
More vendors as expected to sign on, and this event is already being considered a not-to-be-missed evening for anyone interested in supporting local chefs and eating a lot of delicious, inexpensive food. Mark the date and the location:
March 29, 2011
4400 South Orange Avenue
Orlando, FL 32806
This event is cash only, so bring a pocketful and sample the wares.
