While there's still no significant word on what's going to happen with what's left of Pleasure Island and what will eventually exist there (save some buildings being taken away to make room for we have no idea what), Downtown Disney is seeing some new businesses, which means more vacation options for fun and shopping.
First up will be a massive new Harley-Davidson store. According to the official Disney Parks Blog, this location will be "the largest and most interactive Harley merchandise store of its kind."
The old Harley store on Disney property will be taken over by a new boutique, Apricot Lane. This new store will sell celebrity-inspired fashions and accessories, including costume jewelry and branded apparel.
This fall will begin contruction on Splitsville, a brand-new "upscale entertainment center" that will include bowling, billiards, food, music and lilghtlife. This will potentially be a big over-21 draw for Downtown Disney, though no official word yet on whether this will indeed be for the adult crowd or if it will be family-friendly. Splitsville will be occuypying space currently used by RIDEMAKERZ, which will move to a new location at the Marketplace.
Pleasure Island itself hasn't revealed any official new construction or store names, but building have been removed to make way for whatever is coming next. These removals will delay planned construction, but since very little is known about what's coming, that doesn't mean much. We're hoping they will be giving out more information soon.
