It all started at the South Carolina State House, and has since led to the removal of the Confederate Flag from venues and buildings all over the South. And, to the surprise of many, even at Walt Disney World's Epcot theme park.
The flag (pictured below) is not the traditional Southern Cross, but is actually the 3rd flag of the Confederacy. The flag was featured in Epcot's "The American Adventure" exhibit, which uses animatronics of Presidents and Statesmen to guide visitors through different eras in American history. There are over 40 different flags on display, however, this version of the flag will no longer be on display.
“I think in this day and age we shouldn’t be promoting a part of our history we’re not proud of,” Sheri Labowski, a Connecticut tourist outside the American Adventure on Wednesday, told the Orlando Sentinel.
