Three courses for $30 -- The Peabody is the place

The Peabody has long been one of Orlando's finest luxury hotels, and dining here is enough of a treat to make even the most hardened locals fight the International Drive traffic. This month, the hotel continues their "3. 3. 30." deal with a fantastic prix fixe menu at The Capriccio Grill Italian Steakhouse. Look at the choices:

 First course: Lobster Shrimp Bisque with shrimp rice cracker and chervil OR The Wedge Salad with applewood-smoked bacon, Russian dressing, and pickled tomato

 Second Course: Squid Ink Fettuccini with spicy prawn, smoked tomatoes, piquillo
peppers, porchetta, and boursin hollandaise OR Creekstone Farms Beef Tenderloin with roasted diver scallop, truffle fries, and black garlic & chive aioli

 Third Course: Mixed Berries Compote with Grand Marnier zabaglione, and citrus tuille OR
Vanilla Bean Gelato with seasonal berries and lychee caramel

 Considering that a regularly priced dinner at Capriccio easily runs $50+ per person, this is a terrific deal. Make reservations as soon as you can -- you've got until the end of March to enjoy it.

Orlando Kicks Off The New Year!

The first few days of the new year are upon us, and that can only mean one thing: football! In Orlando, that means the Capital One Bowl, on January 2nd at One Citrus Bowl Place, is raring to go. But you don't have to wait until the main event to have some fun. There are many different options, from a parade to tail-gate parties and pre-game festivities to get you in the spirit.

Starting on December 31, the annual Fresh From Florida parade will kick things off from 11am-2pm in downtown Orlando.

On January 1, from 12:30pm-2pm, head on over to The Peabody Orlando for the Capital One Kickoff Luncheon. Warm up your cheering skills later that afternoon at the Capital One Bowl Pep Rally from 4pm-5:30pm at Pointe Orlando (off International Drive).

January 2 is Game Day! You can start things off right at the Capital One Fanfest at McCracken Field (Citrus Bowl Stadium) starting at 9am. This pre-game tailgate party will feature interactive games, live music, entertainment, and much more!

If you're looking for a tailgate party with luxurious style instead, the Kuykendall Gardner Tailgate Terrace is the gathering you won't want to miss. These festivities offer high end, gourmet food and entertainment, and it's all in a climate-controlled environment. Tinker Field (Citrus Bowl Stadium), 10am-1pm.

The Capital One Bowl will be held at Citrus Bowl Stadium with kickoff at 1pm, with the game expected to end at 4:30pm.

Together with the Clean the World Foundation, the Peabody Hotel Orlando will host the First Annual Clean the World Gala, an event already being talked about as the areas next "must attend" charity gala.


The gala will feature fine foods created by Peabody chefs just for this occasion. There will also be performances of cultural dance from all over the world, a silent auction to benefit local families in need, and an as-yet-unannounced celebrity host. This list of sponsors is impressive, with names like Walt Disney World and Neiman Marcus, and could mean some seriously awesome auction items. This gala seems poised to tbe the night everyone will be talking about, so if you want to be there and do some good while enjoying a night out, register now. Peabody Spa to offer Teen and Tween pampering

The Spa at the Peabody is having a special event on August 4, 2011. The "Born to be Styled" event will feature complimentary hand massage, makeup application, and skin analysis, just in time for trendy teens to get prepared for the new school year.


The spa will show off the newest luxury products for hair, face, and body, and "mocktails" will be served for refreshment. The event will start at 6pm and go until 8pm; RSVPs are requested.


The Spa at the Peabody is one of the best in Orlando, in a truly tourist-friendly location right on International Drive. Sure, the event is probably mostly a way to try to intrduce people to new products and maybe even seel a few, but it's also a fun mom-daughter thing to do. And who doesn't need a few more tips on taking care of your skin? Plus the event itself is free and it's a nice relaxing break from the typical tourist rush of the area.
