Sea World minus 1 -- Manta closed through September 17

Despite the inconvenience it can sometimes cause on our vacations, it's good to know that Sea World puts safety above sales. Manta, Sea World Orlando's fantastic flying roller coaster, will be closed for maintenance until September 17, 2010.

The walk-through aquarium will remain open during this scheduled maintenance. This is a worthwhile experience in itself, though the thrills here are slightly less heart-pounding. The floor to ceiling views feature rare and beautiful ocean wildlife, including sea dragons, colorful schooling fish and Pacific octopi. There are also 300 rays that float and fly around and above you -- kids can get a 360
° thanks to a special "pop up" aquarium built just for them.

Good to see they value safety and got to it before major complaints or harm to someone happened.
