For many WDW fans, there's no park dressed finer for the holidays than EPCOT. International decorations dot the park, making for a truly unique and festive backdrop for the winter holiday season. But it's after dark that the park truly shines, thanks to the Candlelight Processional.
This annual holiday event is held on special nights in December, at the American Gardens Theatre in World Showcase. Each evening, the story of Christmas is told by a celebrity narrator, while the music of a 50-piece orchestra and a professional mass choir swells in the background. Even non-religious guests enjoy the grandeur of the performance. December 2010 celebrity guests are (starting from this week):
12/07–12/09 — Jodi Benson
12/10–12/11 — Whoopi Goldberg
12/12–12/15 — Steven Curtis Chapman
12/16–12/18 — Thomas Gibson
12/19–12/21 — Trace Adkins
12/22–12/23 — Brad Garrett
12/24–12/27 — Edward James Olmos
12/28–12/30 — Marlee Matlin/Jack Jason
This event is hugely popular and seats fill early. Early attendance is a must or, if you prefer, you can book a special Candlelight Dinner Package, which includes your meal, guaranteed seating for the performance and a special seating area for the post-show fireworks. Choose from the following restaurants: Biergarten, Garden Grill, Rose & Crown, Le Cellier, Coral Reef, Nine Dragons, San Angel, Marrakesh, Teppan Edo & Tokyo Edo, Chefs de France and Tutto Italia. Dinner packages range from $46.99-$61.99 per adult and $15.99-$23.99 per child, plus park admission. For more information, call (407) WDW-DINE.
