Two theme parks will end two fan favorites -- Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom's "The Magic, The Memories, and You" nighttime show and Sea World's Makahiki Luau.
You've got one week left to see the Disney show, which is projected onto Cinderella's Castle after dark -- it closes on Labor Day Monday (September 3, 2012). A new show, "Celebrate the Magic," will open in November of 2012 as part of the Fantasyland reboot. Elements from the current show will be incorporated into the new one. Here's a sneak artist's preview, from the official Disney Parks Blog:
The new show will be a Walt Disney World exclusive; no other Disney park will have it.
While Disney fans will have something new to look forward to, fans of the Makahiki Luau at Sea World of Orlando are going to have to make due with reservations availability for the next few weeks -- as of October 1, 2012, the 30-year old, much-loved dinner show will be no more.
The final dinner will take place September 30, 2012 at 6 p.m.; that seating is already sold out. At a mere $46 per person (including one complimentary tropical drink each) for dinner and entertainment, with no park admission required and free parking for luau guests, I urge you to make a reservation and enjoy this great family event before it says Aloha for good.
