Ordering Food At Disney World and SeaWorld With Apps

Ordering food at Orlando's theme parks can often times be a frustrating event.  Although most parks have used technology (think Disney's Fast Pass) to ease the long lines of the most popular rides and attractions, the food lines are still suffering.  Fortunately, that problem may soon be a problem of the past.  Disney World and SeaWorld have begun testing pre-ordering and paying with the use of apps.  At the moment, that testing is only limited to a few select restaurants, such as Disney World's Be Our Guest in Magic Kingdom, and SeaWorld's Seaport Pizza.  However, the results have been promising, and both parks will be extending the tests into additional venues.

Let's hope this takes off, since that will give us all more time to explore everything else in the parks!

Carpe Freezum!

February 01, 2013 0
On February 2, SeaWorld's Aquatica water park will play host to polar bears - but not the type of polar bears that one usually expects to see in SeaWorld. On Saturday, teams and individuals will join together to support Special Olympics Florida. For this Polar Plunge, Aquatica's normally balmy waters will be specially cooled to give participants the "thrill of the chill."

Although it's probably a bit too late to start a team and reach the gold level of raising $1200, it's definitely not too late to register. The $100 fee is well worth it - since it began in 3 years ago, the Polar Plunge has recruited 1500 plungers, who have raised a total of $327,000.

If the good cause isn't enough to pique your interest, all plungers also get admission to Aquatica, an All-Day Food Pass, an official event t-shirt, and two spectator passes. What are you waiting for? It's just a little bit of cold water!

SeaWorld's Christmas Celebration

December 12, 2012 0
It's SeaWorld like you've never seen it before. There's snow in Shamu's Happy Harbor. Shark's Harbor is serving a traditional holiday meal. Beautifully lit Christmas trees float magically above the water. There's nowhere else that you can actually take a ride on the Polar Express. And, of course, no holiday theme park trip would be complete without a festive fireworks display to cap off your day of holiday fun!

You won't see many characters dressed up in their holiday finest, but you will get to experience the power and beauty of the Shamu family in SeaWorld's nighttime holiday show: Shamu Christmas - Miracles. Watch in awe as the orcas soar through the water and air to seasonal music in a tribute to relection and understanding, peace and friendship, and the every day miracles that surround us all year long.

SeaWorld's Christmas Celebration runs on select dates from now through December 31. For more information, visit their webpage.
