Epcot Holidays Around the World

December 15, 2012 0
Have you ever wanted to spend Christmas in a different country? What about several different countries at the same time? Epcot's Holidays Around the World gives you just that opportunity. And if that's not enough to get you into the Christmas spirit, you can wait until the sun sets for the Candlelight Processional.

On select evenings from now until December 30, a celebrity narrator will present a very special retelling of the Christmas story, accompanied by a 50-piece orchestra and mass choir. You and yours will be inspired and touched by this magical event, which takes place in the America Gardens Theatre.

Since many guests make the Candlelight Processional an integral part of their yearly celebrations, spaces fill up quickly. In order to make sure you have a seat, Epcot highly recommends participating in one of their Candlelight Dining Packages, which includes a delicious lunch or dinner, a guaranteed seating section for the Candlelight Processional, and pre-arranged fireworks viewing.

With only a few weeks left, act now to make sure you have a chance to experience this incredible event! If you want to see what else Orlando has to offer this holiday season, check our Holiday 2012 roundup!

SeaWorld's Christmas Celebration

December 12, 2012 0
It's SeaWorld like you've never seen it before. There's snow in Shamu's Happy Harbor. Shark's Harbor is serving a traditional holiday meal. Beautifully lit Christmas trees float magically above the water. There's nowhere else that you can actually take a ride on the Polar Express. And, of course, no holiday theme park trip would be complete without a festive fireworks display to cap off your day of holiday fun!

You won't see many characters dressed up in their holiday finest, but you will get to experience the power and beauty of the Shamu family in SeaWorld's nighttime holiday show: Shamu Christmas - Miracles. Watch in awe as the orcas soar through the water and air to seasonal music in a tribute to relection and understanding, peace and friendship, and the every day miracles that surround us all year long.

SeaWorld's Christmas Celebration runs on select dates from now through December 31. For more information, visit their webpage.

Leu's Holiday House

December 11, 2012 0
From now until New Year's Day (except Christmas Day), visitors can see the historic Harry P. Leu house decked out in its holiday finest. The home was built in 1888 and passed through several owners until Leu purchased it in 1936. In 1961, the Leus deeded the 40 acre estate to the city of Orlando, provided the home and grounds were always made available to the public as a botanical garden.

Each year, students from Seminole State College's Interior Design decorate the rooms of the home in various styles, from American Colonial to Funky Retro. Adult admission is $7 per person, and tours run every 30 minutes from 10am to 3:30pm.

The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights

November 29, 2012 0
From now through January 6, 2013, you can watch the Streets of America at Disney's Hollywood Studios shine and twinkle in synch with all of your favorite traditional holiday music. What started as the personal project of the Osborne family in Arkansas has transformed into a magical, awe-inspiring event filled with Disney magic.

Each building is blanketed in sheets of multicolored lights, and more twirl from carousels and arc overhead. Santa and his reindeer are joined by heavenly angels, and every ten minutes, the lights dim - only to spring back to choreographed life to match the music drifting through the streets.

And, if you're very, very lucky and truly embrace the holiday spirit, you might even see a few flurries of enchanted snow. It doesn't get much more magical than that!

Entry is included with standard park entry fees. More information can be found on the Hollywood Studios website. For  more magical winter events, be sure to check out Holiday 2012 roundup!
